Sailing Heavyweights Set To Battle It Out On Australian Waves At The 2009 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race Rolex Watch Blog by Melrose Jewelers USA

As the 2009 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race draws closer, all the teams can be seen gearing up to conquer the waves and create new records. The race which is scheduled to begin on the 26^th of December is one of the few yacht races to attract huge media coverage. The competitors are all set to charter the course with the race beginning from the Sydney Harbor and leading towards the Tasman Sea, Storm Bay and the Derwent River. Not only are the sailors and the crew preparing to take on the challenge of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race but also various modifications are being put into place for the yachts. The race is set to begin at 13:00 hours off the Sydney Harbor on the last Saturday of December.

Though the race would be witness to six 100 foot Super Maxis vying for Line Honors, the real competition would be between Alfa Rome II, Wild Oats XI and ICAP Leopard III. The 2009 race promises to be a feast for every fan
